Brechin City have signed Bobby Barr after the winger was dropped from the Albion Rovers team following a bust-up with manager Paul Martin. The 21-year-old has stepped up from the Third to the Second Division by signing on loan until January.

He told Brechin's website: "It's great to be sorted out so quickly. Last week was a difficult week and I'm glad it's behind me.

"I'm at Brechin now and will then see what my options are in January."

Barr was last season's Third Division player of the year.

However, he was accused by Martin of repeatedly being disrespectful to the management team at Cliftonhill.

Martin said that Barr would not feature in the first-team again, but Rovers stressed that they would hold him to his contract, which ends next summer, unless another club was willing to pay a fee in January.
