Livingston return to winning ways against Brechin
Livingston bounced back from a Scottish Cup defeat against East Fife to win 3-0 against Brechin in Ladbrokes Scottish League One.
The hosts got off to the perfect start as Liam Buchanan put them ahead within a minute before Craig Halkett scored his first goal of the season to double the lead before half-time.
Just 10 minutes into the second half, Scott Pittman scored his sixth goal of the season with a close-range finish past Graeme Smith.
The win maintained their nine-point gap at the top of the table whilst Brechin remained in fourth place with East Fife and Queen's Park just a point behind.
Peterhead went up to seventh in the standings with a resounding 4-0 win against Queen's Park.
Ryan Strachan and Grant Anderson scored their first goals of the season to give Peterhead a commanding two-goal lead after just 25 minutes.
However, afternoon turned even worse for Queen's Park when Ryan McGeever suffered the triple punishment of conceding a penalty that Rory McAllister scored and getting sent off for his second bookable offence.
McAllister, the club's top scorer, added gloss to the scoreline with a fourth goal shortly after the hour mark.
Stenhousemuir were twice pegged back by promotion-chasing Airdrieonians before winning 4-2.
Andy Ryan cancelled out Alan Cook's goal in the first half before Cook added a second before the interval.
Despite going down to 10 men after Jack Leitch's dismissal, Airdrie equalised again through Joe Gorman.
But Stenhousemuir made the numerical advantage count as late goals from Colin McMenamin and Carlos Mazana-Martinez sealed the win to go three points clear of bottom side Stranraer.
Elsewhere, Alloa kept pace with the league leaders by winning 1-0 against Albion Rovers thanks to Scott Taggart's first-half strike and East Fife went up to fifth with a 0-0 draw against Stranraer.
