Cowdenbeath came from behind to keep their promotion bid on course.

The visitors threatened after just five minutes, but Gary Fusco's rising shot from the edge of the box flew inches over the bar.

But it was Albion who grabbed the lead two minutes later when Scott Chaplain drove low past David Hay after George Wallace had nodded a Graham McGhee cross down into his path.

And Wallace nearly extended Rover's lead in the 16th minute, but his header from the trialist's cross was brilliantly kept out by Hayes.

A cross-cum-shot from Fusco caused a scare amongst the Rovers defence on the half hour mark, but Gordon Lennon was able to hook the ball off the goal-line.

Cowdenbeath went close again two minutes before the break, but Rovers defender Scott Friel got back to clear off the line after Gerard McKenna's lob over Gary McGlynn looked destined for the net.

The visitors thought they had levelled 10 minutes after the break, but Mikko Paatelainen's curling 15-yard shot flew agonisingly over.

But Cowden did pull level in the 56th minute when Liam Buchanan forced the ball over the line from close range after John Ward's header had been blocked.

Five minutes later Cowden went ahead again when Mikko Paatelainen's cross from the left flew straight into the net.

Graham Guy then hit a third with an excellent free-kick from 25 yards in the 80th minute.
