Berwick Rangers chalked up their fourth successive win to guarantee at least a play-off place, but their championship dream is still alive.

Rovers stretched them to the limit in the second half and showed skill and determination without being able to break down a defence in which Grant McNicoll, Mark Cowan and Chris McGroaty starred.

Sir Bobby Robson was a distinguished spectator as Rangers opened strongly, and they deservedly went ahead after 14 minutes with McNicoll heading in a Kevin McLeish corner. Goalkeeper Gary O'Connor made a vital save from Martin Bonar.

In the second half Rovers showed great determination and considerable skill as they powered forward, forcing Rangers to defend grimly, and they did so well that O'Connor was rarely troubled.

The last two minutes were highly entertaining. First Berwick's Kevin Haynes flicked a Danny Swanson cross in off the crossbar, and immediately a girl streaker raced on to celebrate!

Rovers' reply was instant, and when David Murie upended Scott Chaplain, Ciaran Donnelly crashed home the spot-kick.

With five games left, Berwick face a tough run-in for the title.
