Montrose recovered from the loss of two goals in the first four minutes to earn a draw at home to Albion Rovers.

Albion took the lead after just two minutes when Ian Chisholm headed home a Jamie Doyle free-kick.

It was 2-0 two minutes later when Stephen Donachy broke on a through ball and shot into the bottom corner.

Albion might have stretched their lead after 28 minutes when Sandy Wood made a brave save at the feet of Chisholm after a defence-splitting pass from Scott Chaplain.

Montrose got a goal back after 38 minutes when Ian McLeod broke on to a Martin Fotheringham pass and shot into the bottom corner.

Aftrer 40 minutes a Chisholm cross was tipped away at full stretch by Sandy Wood, then right on half-time Chaplain drove over the bar.

Five minutes into the second half Chisholm missed a sitter when he put the ball over the bar. Then after 53 minutes a Chaplain shot was saved by Wood.

Montrose hauled themselves back into the game, and they went close after 75 minutes when James Russell shot over on the turn after good work by McLeod.

After 81 minutes Greg Hensley had a diving header saved by goal-keeper Gary McGlynn.

A minute later an effort from McLeod almost caught out McGlynn, but he got back to tip the ball over the bar.

Montrose equalised after 85 minutes when Callum Watson lad the ball off and Hugh Davidson drove home via the post.
