McCann comes to Peterhead's rescue

League leaders Peterhead needed a late goal to secure a 1-1 draw against visitors Albion.

Mark McGuigan struck against the run of play to put Albion into the lead with 10 minutes to go.

However, Peterhead rallied and finally converted, with Ryan McCann scoring to give his side a well deserved point.

Peterhead had dominated the opening exchanges and James Redman's 14th-minute effort came close to breaking the deadlock.

On the cusp of half-time Peterhead threatened again and the Albion bar was needed to keep out Ryan McCann's curling right-footed strike.

After the break, the pattern of play continued, with Peterhead's Andrew Rodgers coming close with a strike from the right side.

It was Albion who took the lead but Peterhead's class showed to ensure they continued their long undefeated streak at home.
